Outreach

Here at Grace, we believe that our faith is lived out most fully by offering ourselves in service to others.

Grace’s Table Food Cupboard was created a number of years ago to provide nutritious food to those in need. We follow God’s commandment from Deuteronomy 15:11 – There will always be poor people in the land; therefore, I command you to be open-handed toward your brothers and toward the poor and needy in your land (NIV).

Grace’s Table – our Community Food Cupboard is open 3:00 – 4:30 p.m. on the fourth Thursday of each month. (PLEASE NOTE: The times have changed as of January 1st, 2026)

Grace’s Table primarily serves the Town of Wheatland, the Village of Scottsville, the Hamlet of Mumford and the Wheatland-Chili School District, but we extend assistance to anyone in need who contacts the church office. Clients register with their name, phone number and whether they are a single or two person/family
household. Distribution of prepackaged bags of nonperishable food is on the fourth Thursday of each month.

Food is procured through donations and purchase. Our parishioners are the primary donors along with strong support from Union Presbyterian Church and generous individuals throughout the community. Another major source of donations is the Rush-Henrietta Area Food Terminal (RHAFT). When food donations are insufficient, financial donations allow for the purchase of items necessary to fill the monthly bags.

Each month the following items are needed – canned vegetables, canned fruit, canned hearty soups and main meals, condensed soup, canned tuna or chicken, pasta sauce and boxed pasta, macaroni & cheese mixes, peanut butter, boxed cereal and pudding or dessert mixes. Other nonperishable items may be donated and are given out as extras. We strive to offer low sugar, no sugar, low salt and no salt healthy food choices.

If you are in need, or interested in donating to Grace’s Table, please contact the church office at 585-889-2028 and leave a message. Volunteers are also needed to help with distribution.
